36 male rats were randomly divided into 3 groups and housed under three different light/dark cycles for 3 months: 1 â control group (12h day, 12h night) (LD); 2 â24 h ligh (LL)t; 3 â 24 h darkness (DD). After 1 and 3 months, we collected rat fecal samples for DNA extraction and amplicon sequencing (16S RNA, V3/V4 region).
