Microbiome in orbital fat under thyroid associated ophthalmopathy

Our study aims to present the microbial differences in orbital adipose tissue between thyroid associated ophthalmopathy(TAO) and controls as well as providing the general view of the human orbital fat microbiota for the first time. The existence of bacteria in TAO and its impact on disease pathogenesis are worth investigating in the future because novel strategies for TAO treatment could be developed based on these findings.
