Leachate water map

The rate of leachate indicates how much water annually infiltrates and leaks into the soil. It is significantly influenced by precipitation. The efficiency of the use of geothermal collectors is strongly influenced by soil moisture. Water has a much higher thermal conductivity than air. Higher leaching water rates can therefore have a positive effect on the energy efficiency of a geothermal collector. The data set provides a basis for large-scale considerations and does not replace the conduct of detailed investigations.
