Pteromys volans gut microbiome

Data on the gut microbiome of wild Siberian Flying Squirrels (Pteromys volans), based on 16S rRNA sequencing DNA extracted from faecal samples. Sequenced as part of Earth Microbiome Project. These data were produced to study the interplay between habitat fragmentation, stress physiology and microbiome in a metapopulation of this vulnerable species inhabiting a set of old grown forest fragments in Vaasa area, West Finland.
