美国陆地卫星8号(Landsat-8 )于2013年2月11日由美国航空航天局(NASA)发射升空。Landsat-8卫星上携带两个传感器,分别是OLI陆地成像仪(Operational Land Imager)和TIRS热红外传感器(Thermal Infrared Sensor)。 Landsat-8在空间分辨率和光谱特性等方面与Landsat 1-7保持了基本一致,卫星一共有11个波段,波段1-7,9-11的空间分辨率为30米,波段8为15米分辨率的全色波段,卫星每16天可以实现一次全球覆盖。 OLI陆地成像仪有9个波段,成像宽幅为185 x 185km。与Landsat-7上的ETM传感器相比,OLI陆地成像仪做了以下调整:1. Band 5的波段范围调整为0.845–0.885 μm,排除了0.825μm处水汽吸收的影响;2. The Landsat-8 satellite was launched by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) on February 11, 2013. It carries two sensors: the Operational Land Imager (OLI) and the Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS). In terms of spatial resolution and spectral characteristics, Landsat-8 is basically consistent with Landsat 1-7. The satellite has a total of 11 spectral bands: Bands 1-7 and 9-11 have a spatial resolution of 30 meters, while Band 8 is a panchromatic band with a 15-meter resolution. It can complete a global coverage every 16 days. The OLI has 9 spectral bands, with an imaging swath of 185 × 185 km. Compared with the ETM sensor on Landsat-7, the OLI has undergone the following adjustments: 1. The wavelength range of Band 5 has been adjusted to 0.845–0.885 μm, eliminating the influence of water vapor absorption at 0.825 μm; 2. The wavelength range of the Band 8 panchromatic band has been narrowed, enabling better distinction between vegetated and non-vegetated areas; 3. Two new bands have been added. Band 1, a blue band (0.433–0.453 μm), is mainly used for coastal zone observation, while Band 9, a shortwave infrared band (1.360–1.390 μm), is applied for cloud detection. The TIRS aboard Landsat-8 is primarily used to collect heat loss from two thermal zones of the Earth, aiming to understand the water consumption of the observed regions. The remote sensing image data of Landsat-8 has a wide range of applications, including global change research, agriculture, forestry, geology, resource management, geography, cartography, water quality, coastal research and other fields.
