The parameter files are plain text, and can be accessed using a text editor or web browser. The complete snapshot is contained in an archive file in the tar file format. Within the archive, the parameter and manifest file are plain text, while the grid files are binary files in the HDF5 format. Accessing the grid files requires either the HDF5 libraries or utilities. N.B: This only provides access to raw values; an additional layer is required to build the Enzo data model (e.g., YT).
