Ochrobactrum grignonense strain BU72 was isolated from hydrocarbon contaminated sediments located at the refinery harbor of the Bizerte coast in the North of Tunisia. The strain was characterized as Gram negative, heterotrophic, moderately halophilic, strictly aerobic and able to degrade crude oil and Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Knowledge of this genomic information will facilitate the efficient use of this strain for biotechnological applications and bioremediation .
