Funerary stela of Thalea

The deceased woman is depicted as per a statuary type known as pudica. The small servant girl to the left raises her hand to her bowed head in sorrow; the one on the right holds a cylindrical box. This type of vertical funerary stela with a reduced number of figures started to appear in Asia Minor in the 3rd century B.C.. Beneath the pediment an epitaph (inscription) flanks the wreath: "Thalea, (daughter of) Athenagoras, (from the city of) Oroanna, greetings!"此已故女性的形象采用了被称为羞怯型（pudica）的雕塑表现范式。左侧的小女仆以悲伤姿态将手举至低垂的头颅，右侧的女仆则手持一圆柱形盒。这种精简人物数量的立式丧葬石碑（funerary stela），于公元前3世纪开始在小亚细亚地区出现。在三角楣饰（pediment）下方，花圈两侧刻有墓志铭（epitaph，即铭文），铭文内容为："塔莱娅，雅典娜戈拉斯之女，奥罗安娜城人，致意！"
