Data and code for "From knowing to doing: climate knowledge, farm resources and adoption of climate-smart practices among refugee smallholders in Nakivale, Uganda

Survey data, codebook, questionnaire and analysis script from a cross-sectional study of 384 smallholder crop farmers in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Isingiro District, Uganda, conducted between 14 and 30 May 2025. The survey recorded socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge of the causes and effects of climate change, attitudes toward climate change management, and adoption of five climate-smart agricultural practices (crop diversification, agroforestry, conservation tillage, drought-resistant crops and water harvesting). Files included:- My_data.xlsx: the survey data (384 rows, 65 variables), with a Description sheet giving short variable labels- Nakivale_codebook.xlsx: full codebook, including response coding, variable counts, and the definitions of the derived scores used in the analysis- Questionnaire.docx: the survey instrument- reproduce_paper3.R: R script (tested under R 4.5.1) that reproduces every table reported in the associated manuscript from My_data.xlsx- README.txt: description of the files and their relationship to the study Ethical approval was granted by the Research Ethics Committee of Bishop Stuart University (approval number BSU-REC-2025-524, 12 May 2025 to 12 May 2026). Written informed consent was obtained from all participants; the dataset contains no names, contact details or GPS coordinates.
