The faecal microbiota composition of Nero siciliano pig and commercial crossbreed (LW x LD) pigs raised under same farm condition

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of "liquid whey" on the faecal microbiome of two different genetic types, autochthonous breeds (Nero Siciliano pig) and commercial crossbreed (LxLW) raised under the same farm conditions and report a detailed taxonomic and functional profiling of the microbial community associated with this rare and endangered-maintained pig breed compared with commercial breed.
