Bacterial communities associated to macrophyte meadows in the Baltic Sea

Coastal macrophytes may have an important role as filter, removing nutrients and pathogenic bacteria entering the system via land runoff and wastewater emissions. In Baltic Sea, one of the commonly found macrophyte species is Potamogeton perfoliatus. In this study, we investigated the nutrient reduction in the macrophyte meadow and the occurrence of bacterial communities and potentially pathogenic bacteria associated with macrophytes in the Rundvik and Kyloren bay, Vasterbotten County region. Amplicons were sequenced using Nanopore MinION platform and the quality-filtered (Q > 9) reads are submitted.
