Hawaiian Drosophilidae: Modified Mouthparts V

The diverse Drosophila of Hawai'i consists of four main lineages. The largest of these four clades is the polyphagous modified mouthparts drosophila, which are morphologically and ecologically distinct. All 106 described species are endemic to the Hawaiian Islands and exhibit modifications of the labellum (mouth) for courtship and feeding purposes. Although the larvae breed on stems, fruits, flowers and bark of a variety of host families, most are substrate and host-specific. Being the largest of the four lineages, it is surprising that it is also the most poorly studied. Please contribute and transcribe the modified mouthpart specimens of the Insect Museum.This expedition of 669 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.

夏威夷果蝇属（Drosophila）类群包含四个主要演化支。该四大演化支中规模最大的一支为多食性且具特化口器的果蝇类群，其在形态学与生态学上均具有独特性。目前已描述的106个物种均为夏威夷群岛特有种，其唇瓣（口器）特化以适配求偶与取食需求。尽管该类群幼虫寄生于多科寄主植物的茎秆、果实、花朵与树皮中，但绝大多数类群具有严格的生境与寄主专一性。作为四个演化支中体量最大的类群，该类群却也是研究程度最低的类群，这一点颇为出人意料。欢迎捐赠并转录昆虫博物馆馆藏的特化口器标本。本次包含669项任务的科考项目已完成全部转录与验证工作。本数据集将定期同步至核心物种出现记录索引库。
