资源简介:
This collection consists of site reports, records and a CAD vector drawing from an archaeological evaluation and historic building recording works at Quince Hall Farm, Chelmsford Road, Blackmore, Essex. Works were undertaken by Archaeology South-East in June 2022 in advance of development of an the existing farmhouse, the conversion and alteration of three outbuildings to form dwellings, and the demolition of a fourth outbuilding to make way for a dwelling. All evaluation trenches were found to be archaeologically negative, with no below ground features encountered. Barn 1 was built during the later part of the 18th century. Barn 2 was built in the very late 17th or early 18th century probably primarily as a storage barn. It became entirely floored over at first floor level, and its roof replaced during the later part of the 19th century.
