Potential geothermal energy Rhineland Group (COP 15, Tretour 35)

On behalf of the province of Zuid-Holland, IF-Technology conducted the study ‘Potential geothermal energy in Zuid-Holland’, 2 December 2016. This map shows the potential of the Rijnland Group. The depth of this formation increases in a south-western direction from 500 m in the northeast to about 2.000 m in the southwest. The potential for geothermal energy (GT) is shown in the power (MWt) and the energy quantity (PJ) that can be produced at a location with a single conventional doublet at a coefficient of performance (COP) of 15 and a return temperature of 35 °C. Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal heat.
