Formation brine, Natural gas reservoir Raw sequence reads

16S V4 region amplicon sequences of genomic DNA extracted from formation brine collected at a field test site (a depleted underground gas storage) located in the Haller Serie formation in the Upper Austrian Molasse Basin. Additionally, a synthetic brine (SB) mimicking the original formation brine was prepared and inoculated with autochthonous microbes from the formation. The resulting mixed culture was subjected to DNA extraction and the V4 region of the 16S gene was selected for targeted marker gene sequencing. Besides raw data corresponding to the sequencing campaign, a jupyter notebook is attached documenting all bioinformatic analysis steps.
