For the inverse design of supersonic flow field in broad three-dimensional space and non-uniform incoming flow conditions, a generalized three-dimensional design method is given to obtain the inlet channel wall based on the space-streamline-based method of characteristics. Further, for the wide working range of the RBCC engine, a design example is obtained by applying the generalized 3D inlet design method, and the operating characteristics and overall performance parameters of the generalized 3D wide-speed range RBCC inlet are obtained by numerical simulation. The results show that the generalized 3D inlet design method can further enrich the leading edge line shape of the inlet. It can also reasonably distribute the internal/external and top/lateral compression, which improves the design flexibility of the traditional inlet and its integration with the aircraft.
