Haly.ID: A Multi-year Multi-modal Dataset for Halyomorpha halys (BMSB) Monitoring in Pear Orchards (Italy, 2021–2023)

This repository provides Haly.ID, a multi-year, multi-modal dataset for monitoring the brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) (Halyomorpha halys) in a real agricultural setting. The dataset was collected over three consecutive growing seasons (2021–2023) in a commercial pear orchard in Italy as part of the Haly.ID project. It integrates UAV-based high-resolution RGB imagery, stationary canopy-level camera images, and microclimate time-series data, enabling joint analysis of insect presence, environmental conditions, and acquisition geometry. The dataset includes: Drone-acquired RGB images (2021–2023), fully annotated with bounding boxes for adult Halyomorpha halys; Stationary camera images (2023) captured within the tree canopy and annotated for Halyomorpha halys; Environmental and phenological data (2023), including air temperature, relative humidity, light intensity, barometric pressure, wind-related measurements, and leaf wetness. Annotations are provided in YOLO format, images are stored in JPEG/PNG, and environmental data are released as archived time-series records without interpolation. This dataset is intended to support research in entomology, precision agriculture, computer vision, and machine learning, including small-object detection, sensor fusion, and data-driven pest monitoring.
