Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an ubiquitous opportunistic pathogen causing a broad range of infections to humans. We provide the draft genome sequence of the recently identified P. aeruginosa PA45 highly virulent strain. Its 6.6 Mb genome contains 6822 genes, including an unparalleled number of virulence genes which may explain its aggressive phenotype.
