New Caledonia - Benthic species from the tropical Pacific

The dataset is the result of a sampling of the western and central Pacific benthic fauna during the last 30 years in the MUSORSTOM program. The taxonomic information is coming from the taxonomic papers published. The locality mentioned for each species were checked by the author of the pages. The dataset from the database called OCEANE is former by the taxonomical identifications published from our own zoological material. It contains species name with author and date, the family of the species and all the available data about the geographic and bathymetric records. Habitat: From 0 to 3700m. All types of tropical habitats, coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, sedimentary lagoon. The main part of the data are coming from the deep sea (deeper than 100m), muddy, sandy or rocky habitats. Many data are from the seamounts.
