Data were collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico from September to October, 2016 using instrument packages deployed on a deep sea lander. The lander was deployed at in an active hydrocarbon seepage field. Oxygen data was collected using optode sensors inside and out of a chimney to look at the total oxygen consumption (TOU) of the sediment. Water current (speed and direction) and temperature data were also collected to look at the point sources.
本数据集于2016年9月至10月在墨西哥湾北部采集,所用设备为部署于深海着陆器(deep sea lander)上的集成仪器套件。该着陆器布设于一处活跃的烃类渗漏场。研究人员通过在烟囱构造内外布设的光学溶解氧传感器(optode sensors)采集氧气数据,以测定沉积物的总耗氧量(total oxygen consumption, TOU)。此外还同步采集了水流(流速与流向)及温度数据,用于分析该区域的点源。
