Transitional water monitoring network — agg. 2021

The monitoring of transitional waters has as its objective the classification of lagoon waters and coastal ponds and is carried out in accordance with Legislative Decree 152/06. The analytical determinations made are: — chemical-physical and qualitative-quantitative analysis of phytoplankton; — search for pollutants in water; — qualitative analysis of macroalgae; — qualitative and quantitative analysis of benthic macroinvertebrates; — surveys concerning the composition and nature of the substrate; — search for pollutants in sediment; — ecotoxicological surveys. The sampling and analysis activities for monitoring the quality of transitional waters are carried out by the provincial sections of Ravenna and Ferrara, each based on their own territorial competences.
