Laboratory Panel for Intestinal Tuberculosis in Indonesia

World Health Organization (WHO) reported through the Global Tuberculosis Report 2022 that Indonesia is in 2nd place with the highest burden of tuberculosis (TB) in 2021. Intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) as part of TB has a prevalence of around 3–16%. The clinical manifestations, radiological features, and histopathology of ITB resemble other gastrointestinal diseases, such as Crohn's disease and colon cancer, making it a challenge in efforts to develop a noninvasive laboratory panel for diagnosing ITB with various laboratory biomarkers.
