We examined the antimicrobial resistance of 147 E. coli isolates obtained from 570 raw meat samples (chicken, turkey, beef, pork and sheep meat) from 2018 to 2020 in Apulia and Basilicata regions. Out of 144 isolates, 61.1% was multidrug-resistant. . The mcr-1 was detected in all three isolates. The Center for GenomicEpidemiology (CGE) ResFinder Tool confirmed the presence of the mcr1.2 and mcr1.1 in PCR-confirmed isolates.
