Southern Vincennes Bay penguin colonies

A spatial dataset (polygons digitised from aerial photography) showing locations of penguin colonies at southern Vincennes Bay, Antarctica.Aerial photography was taken with a Zeiss UMK 1318 camera on 2-Dec-1993. The images show penguin colonies at Vincennes Bay (Cape Nutt, Hudson Island, Ivanoff Head, Davis Islands, Mallory Point).1. The penguin colonies were traced on screen 3. The images were georeferenced in ArcGIS using the Australian Antarctic Territory coastline 2003 created by Geoscience Australia (see metadata record "AAT_Coastline_2003"). The tiff images with a related world file were saved. 4. Penguin colonies were digitised in ArcMap 8.3. by Nicole Seiler.5. The penguin colony data was matched to the Feature Catalogue and given a dataset id of 243. The absolute accuracy is approximately 500m.

3. 依托澳大利亚地球科学局（Geoscience Australia）制作的2003版澳大利亚南极领地海岸线数据（元数据记录见"AAT_Coastline_2003"），使用ArcGIS对影像进行地理配准，并将携带配套世界文件的TIFF影像进行保存。
4. 企鹅群落矢量数据由妮可·塞勒（Nicole Seiler）使用ArcMap 8.3完成数字化作业。
5. 该企鹅群落数据集已匹配至要素目录，并被分配数据集ID：243。其绝对定位精度约为500米。
