Soil Sample of Zanskar Metagenome

Microbial diversity of soil samples collected from different geographical regions of Zanskar Tehsil of Kargil District of Ladakh was studied through culture independent approaches through High-throughput sequencing techniques, These will make it possible for us to gain a better understanding of the microbial metabolisms that are common at these geothermal locations, which have a lot of potential for biotechnological applications. They will also enable us to establish links between the composition of the microbial community and the physicochemical environment of geothermal water and area.
