Human responses to the evolution of Holocene hydroclimate in the Huai River Basin

The datasets used in this study include both archaeological and paleoclimatic records from the Huai River Basin and its surrounding regions. The archaeological dataset comprises site locations, cultural attributions, and chronological information compiled from published excavation reports and regional archaeological databases. These data were screened for chronological reliability and spatial accuracy to ensure consistency and comparability.The paleoclimatic dataset consists of high-resolution proxy records that reflect Holocene monsoon precipitation variability, including speleothem δ¹⁸O records, lake sediment geochemical and pollen data, and loess–paleosol sequences. All data were standardized in terms of age model and temporal resolution before synthesis
