Router jig

Abstract Title: Router jig for enabling location of router guides A routing jig having a base component having longitudinal sides 12， 14， a lower and upper surface， retaining means and a plurality of shims 30 (30a-d， Fig 7) which are selectively securable to the longitudinal sides by the retaining means 40 to increase the width of the jig. The base component may comprise an optical alignment bar 4 being partly transparent/semi-transparent and may have an indication means having either one indication line along the central longitudinal axis of the base， or two lines (54， 56; Fig 9) one either side of said axis (C; Fig 9). A method is also disclosed for operating said jig (see figures 10， 11)， comprising positioning the assembled jig onto a workpiece and aligning the indication means along a central axis of a feature to be machined， positioning first and second guides against the sides of the jig， removing said jig and then using a router to remove material from between the guides. A calibration process is also disclosed.
