Potential geothermal Germanic Trias Group (COP 10, Tretour 25)

On behalf of the province of Zuid-Holland, IF-Technology conducted the study ‘Potential geothermal energy in Zuid-Holland’, 2 December 2016. This map shows the potential of the Germanic Trias Group. The depth of this formation varies between 2,000 and 4,000 meters below ground level. The potential for geothermal energy (GT) is shown in the power (MWt) and the energy quantity (PJ) that can be produced at a location with a single conventional doublet at a coefficient of performance (COP) of 10 and a return temperature of 25 °C. Geothermal energy is also known as geothermal heat.
