Mean grainsize of surface samples collected from the sanded reef flat physiographic zone of Wistari Reef

Wistari Reef is a lagoonal platform reef, situated on the Tropic of Capricorn, within the Capricorn and Bunker region of the southern Great Barrier Reef. Surface samples were taken from the sanded reef-flat to determine the mean grainsize and the sorting coefficient and also the proportion of aragonite to calcite within the samples. In this area the average mean grainsize is ~0.46phi, with an average sorting coefficient of 0.91phi.

威斯塔里礁（Wistari Reef）为泻湖型台礁，坐落于南回归线之上，地处大堡礁南部的卡普里科恩-邦克群岛区域。科研人员从砂质礁坪采集表层样品，以测定样品的平均粒径、分选系数，以及文石（aragonite）与方解石（calcite）的占比。该区域的平均粒径约为0.46φ，平均分选系数为0.91φ。
