Impact of US-China Trade War on Graduate School Selection Survey Results

The research suggests that Chinese students' motivations for attending graduate school in this US are not strongly influenced by the US-China trade war. Survey was taken by Chinese undergraduate and recently graduated students from universities in Henan, China. Survey was voluntary and could be taken in Chinese or English based on the respondent's choice. After the initial demographic questions and interest in studying abroad, students were asked to select their value on a five-point scale of 1- extremely important, 2- very important, 3- moderately important, 4- somewhat important, 5- not important at all.

本研究表明，计划赴美国攻读研究生的中国学生的求学动机，并未受到美中贸易战的显著影响。本次调查的受访者为中国河南省各高校的中国籍本科生与近期毕业生。调查采用自愿参与形式，受访者可根据自身偏好选择中文或英文作答。在完成初始的人口统计学问题与海外求学意向相关调研问题后，受访者需按照1至5分的五点李克特量表对相关因素的重要性进行评分：1分代表“极其重要”，2分“非常重要”，3分“中等重要”，4分“略有重要性”，5分“完全不重要”。
