Cells were exposed to hypoxia, and dsRNAs corresponding to genes that provoked strong reduction of the response to DFO in the secondary screen (“Group A” genes) as well as some selected genes that rendered milder reduction of the response to DFO (“Group B” genes) were tested for their capacity to interfere with HRE-Luc reporter induction. Depicted genes are grouped according to their molecular function. Normalized luciferase activity (firefly to renilla luciferase activity ratio) for each well was calculated and expressed as the percentage of inhibition respect to hypoxic control cells treated with dsRNA against GFP.
