Opinions on raising the retirement age among employees in the Netherlands 2017

This statistic shows the outcome of a survey done on the opinions on raising the retirement age among employees in the Netherlands, in 2017. The AOW scheme is an insurance scheme which covers everyone who lives or works in the Netherlands, regardless of nationality and is a basic state pension. As a rule, everyone who has reached the AOW pension age and lives or has lived in the Netherlands is entitled to this. It is paid under the National Old Age Pensions Act or AOW. As of 2017, roughly 70 percent of the Dutch respondents indicated that they think it is a bad thing that the retirement age is raised to 67 years and three months. In 2017, there were approximately 3.4 million AOW old age pensions in the Netherlands.
