Klebsiella pneumoniae genome sequencing and assembly

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a major opportunistic pathogen causing healthcare-associated infections, including pneumonia, bloodstream infections, and urinary tract infections. The emergence and spread of carbapenem-resistant K. pneumoniae (CRKP) poses a significant threat to global public health due to limited therapeutic options. This study aims to characterize the genomic features of CRKP clinical isolates fromDepartment of Laboratory Medicine, Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, 221002, China. Whole-genome sequencing was performed to identify antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence factors, and clonal relatedness. The results will provide insights into the molecular epidemiology and evolution of drug-resistant K. pneumoniae, supporting infection control strategies and clinical management.
