Adequate heating and cooling of residential spaces are essential components of sustainable development. In the Global North, several ongoing discussions focus on transitions toward more efficient household climatization through technologically advanced equipment. In contrast, analyses in regions of the Global South reveal a different reality, starting with challenges related to the basic classification and estimation of the energy consumed for climatization. This dataset presents energy estimations that consider the type of equipment, climatic zone, locality size, socioeconomic stratum, and household size for heating and cooling of Mexican households. With these data, it is possible to conduct more precise studies on the economic, social, and environmental impacts of air conditioner use in Mexico, thereby filling an important information gap. The dataset also enables the development of prospective analyses, such as baselines and future scenarios, of these impacts.

居住空间的合理采暖与制冷,是可持续发展的核心组成部分。在全球北方地区,当前多项研讨正聚焦于依托先进技术设备,推动家用室内气候调节系统向更高能效方向转型。与之相对,全球南方地区的相关分析却呈现出迥异的现实图景:其首要挑战便始于室内气候调节能耗的基础分类与测算难题。本数据集针对墨西哥家庭的采暖与制冷场景,提供了综合考量设备类型、气候分区、地域规模、社会经济阶层以及家庭规模的能耗测算数据。依托该数据集,可针对墨西哥空调使用所产生的经济、社会与环境影响开展更为精准的研究,从而填补这一重要的信息缺口。此外,本数据集还可用于开展此类影响的前瞻性分析,例如构建基准基线与未来情景模拟。
