Long-term measurements are carried out analogous to short-term measurements with core track dosimeters. The only difference here is the measurement duration, which must be at least one full calendar year for long-term measurements. Final assessments of radon activities in the building are reliably possible with annual measurements, so that this measurement period is decisive for the legislator with regard to radiation and occupational safety. 300 Bq/m³ has been established as the legal reference value according to §124 StrlSchG.
