Dataset: Traffic accidents DATA on urban roads in the city of San Juan de Pasto in Southwestern Colombia

This dataset contains on traffic accidents data that occurred in the city of San Juan de Pasto, department of Nariño, in the southwest of Colombia. The data presented covers a period of 30 consecutive months between the years 2017 to 2019, which are available in a partial way and in different documents on the government website of Open Data in Colombia. For the organization of accident data, the most relevant variables were considered, including: the date of occurrence of the accidents (month and year), the number of injured and deaths in accidents, the number and type of accidents, the classification of the victim involved in the accidents, the type of vehicle and the time intervals, during the day, where the accidents occurred. Additionally, the calculation of morbidity, mortality and fatality rates, determined from part of the information collected, is presented. The accident dataset helps to know the accident conditions of a region and inquire about possible causes of them, in order to implement actions and mechanisms that guarantee the proper functioning of the traffic flow, in order to provide users of the system a greater degree of safety in their trips, preserving their lives and reducing material damage.

本数据集收录了哥伦比亚西南部纳里尼奥省圣胡安德帕斯托市发生的交通事故相关数据。本次收录的数据覆盖2017年至2019年间连续30个月的时段，相关数据以碎片化形式分散于哥伦比亚开放数据政府门户网站的各类文档中。为规范事故数据的整理工作，本次数据集选取了最具相关性的变量维度，包括：事故发生日期（精确至年月）、事故中的受伤人数与死亡人数、事故起数与事故类型、事故涉事受害者分类、涉事车辆类型，以及事故发生的当日时段区间。此外，本数据集还基于部分采集到的信息，计算并展示了发病率、死亡率与致死率相关数据。本交通事故数据集有助于了解某一区域的事故现状并探究其潜在成因，从而可针对性制定相关措施与机制以保障交通流畅运行，为道路使用者提供更安全的出行环境，保护民众生命安全并降低财产损失。
