Kite Aerial Photography NIMS grid Barrow, Alaska 2011

Aerial photographs of the Networked Info-mechanical Systems (NIMS) grid in Barrow, Alaska were taken using a rig and kite system. As part of the NIMS grid, white boards were nailed into the tundra to act as Ground Control Points (GCPs). The purpose of these boards was to facilitate the visibility of the grid from the aerial photographs, as well as to facilitate georeferencing using ArcMap GIS. Most of the pictures taken are high resolution although only a few are lacking good quality. The photographs are arranged according to flight date. The kite was flown about 2 times a week throughout June, July and August of summer 2011.

本数据集包含采用支架风筝系统拍摄的美国阿拉斯加州巴罗地区网络化信息机械系统（Networked Info-mechanical Systems, NIMS）网格的航空摄影照片。作为NIMS网格的组成部分，研究人员将白板钉置于苔原之上以充当地面控制点（Ground Control Points, GCPs）。此类白板的作用一是提升该网格在航空照片中的辨识度，二是支持采用ArcMap地理信息系统（ArcMap GIS）开展地理配准工作。绝大多数拍摄照片均为高分辨率图像，仅少数存在画质欠佳的问题。所有照片均按拍摄飞行日期进行分类整理。2011年夏季的6、7、8月间，该风筝系统每周约飞行2次。
