Abundance of pollen in ODP Site 124-767 (Appendix)@en

A palynological study of samples from Ocean Drilling Program Site 767 in the Celebes Sea indicates the presence of extensive wetlands (mangrove forests, coastal and lowland swamps) in the area during the-middle and late Miocene. At the start of the late Pleistocene the montane vegetation expanded, probably as a consequence of tectonic upheaval.针对西里伯斯海（Celebes Sea）大洋钻探计划（Ocean Drilling Program）767站位的样品开展的孢粉学研究表明，中新世中晚期该区域曾广泛分布湿地生态系统，涵盖红树林、海岸与低地沼泽。晚更新世初期，山地植被出现扩张，这一现象大概率为构造运动所致。
