F (Flat) Plans document the various land dealings associated with the railway corridor and related infrastructure. They relate to acquisitions and resumptions, disposals, easements, leasing, boundary definitions, road dedication, redefinition, subdivision, vesting, and access. Correspondence, surveyors' reports and notes and various other documents accompany some of the plans.Information found on the F Plans varies but may include location (including County and Parish), parties involved, Deposited Plan (DP) numbers, gazettal notices and notes.Each plan, or set of plans, has a unique sequential number with the prefix ‘F’. Some plans have been superseded by other F Plans but the link between them may not have been documented.

F平面图档案所载信息各有差异，通常包含场地位置信息（含所属郡与教区）、相关当事方、备案档案（Deposited Plan，DP）编号、宪报公告及备注内容。
每套（或单份）F平面图均带有以“F”为前缀的唯一连续编号。部分F平面图已被其他F平面图取代，但二者间的关联记录可能并未留存。
