资源简介:
This proposal aims to investigate the electronic spin state of iron in CaFeO2.5 under high pressure using synchrotron Mössbauer spectroscopy. Additionally, we will study synthetic cubic Ca(Si0.8Fe0.2)O2.9 perovskite to assess the evolution of Fe oxidation and spin state across a 0-70 GPa pressure range. The experiments will be conducted using diamond anvil cells (DACs) with helium as the pressure-transmitting medium. The results will provide fundamental insights into the interplay between structural transitions and electronic spin states in iron-bearing perovskites. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for constraining the role of Fe3+ in lower mantle phases such as CaSiO3 perovskite, particularly regarding its solubility, ionic conductivity, and potential as an iron reservoir at extreme conditions. The findings will have significant implications for geophysics and mineral physics, particularly in relation to deep Earth processes.
