Breath alcohol levels of the general driving population, Adelaide, 1979

As part of a study of the association between alcohol consumption and road crash involvement, a survey of the extent of alcohol usage by the general population of drivers was conducted in the Adelaide metropolitan region. The survey involved obtaining a blood alcohol reading from breath samples provided by drivers on major roadways. Variables of interest were age, sex, time period, day and site. Interviewers also provided a subjective assessment of whether the respondent was drunk or sober.
