The following raw data are the basis of the paper "band gap tuning by structural phase transition in Sm-substituted BiFeO3 powders". The Raman spectra were measured with a LabRam system from Horiba with 633nm laser, a laser power of 1mW and a laser spot size of 1.2um in diameter. The diffuse reflectance in the UV-visible range were measured with a PerkinElmer Lambda 850 equipped with a Harrick Praying Mantis diffuse reflectance acessory. The diffuse reflectance was measured across the phase transition for increasing- and decreasing-temperature runs up to 800K for all Sm compositions.
