Integration of in silico and in vitro approaches to design and conduct transcriptomic drug screening in patient-derived neural cells, in order to survey novel pathologies and points of intervention in schizophrenia. Overall design: Here we compare the transcriptional responses of eight commonly used cancer cell lines (CCLs) directly to that of human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived neural progenitor cells (NPCs) from twelve individuals with SZ and twelve controls across 135 drugs, generating over 4,300 unique drug-response transcriptional signatures.
