Rosseironne Statue-Menhir of a Male Figure

This statue-menhir originally comes from the French department of Gard (South of France) where it was found in a plain associated with a neolithic environment. If you pay close attention, you may be able to distinguish the eyes and facial T of the arch of the eyebrow stay, but also the outline of the face framed, two arms wih their hands, the sides lined with folds of clothes (on the edge of the stone). The making of this statue-menhir could be meant as an act of gratitude towards a chieftain. Statue-menhirs were mostly linked to funeral rites and collective tomns, which they were the guardians of.雕像形巨石柱（statue-menhir）最初出土于法国南部加尔省，其出土地点为一处与新石器时代遗存相关的平原地带。经细致观测，可辨识出眼部、眉弓处的面部T形纹饰，以及轮廓分明的面部轮廓；同时可见双臂与手部，石体边缘带有衣物褶皱的刻纹。制作这座雕像形巨石柱，或为向某位首领表达感恩的举措。雕像形巨石柱大多与丧葬仪式及集体墓葬相关，它们是这类墓葬的守护者。
