Firstly, to study the consequence of plant-plant interactions and the potential below-ground factors, we conducted a field experiment with plants to experience neighbor’s canopy and below-ground biota of the conspecific or heterospecific resident plant. Subsequently, to further elucidate the mechanisms of plant-plant interactions involved in the AMF-mediated plant traits and soil microbial community through PSF, we conducted a two-phase PSF experiment in greenhouse with AMF inoculation and plant competition. We further predict the consequences of plant-plant interactions involved in AMF by quantifying the equalizing and stabilizing forces based on modern coexistence theory and PSF framework.
