Protected areas according to nature protection law of the State of Brandenburg

Protected areas include nature reserves (NSG), landscape conservation areas (LSG) and NNL (national natural landscapes) (formerly known as GSG (large protected areas)) consisting of biosphare reserves, nature parks and national parks.

Since 2007 the provision of digital spatial data on protected areas has been carried out in thematically aggregated shape files:
“AAA” (protected zone type — NSG, GSG, LSG) “_999” (suffix for aggregation type) “std” (type of view — standard).

Two variants are available for download:

The files of the form “aaa_sfl_std” contain the limits of the scopes of the protection orders justifying the current protection status of the individual protected areas. Where a protected area includes areas of the scope of two or more protection orders, their boundaries within the protected area are also presented. Areas outside the NSG in which acts that reach into the protected area are prohibited (Section 22(1) sentence 2 BNatSchG) are not included.
In addition to the information referred to above, the files of the form “aaa_mz_std” also contain the limits of zoning and areas according to § 21 (2) sentence 3 BbgNatSchG (e.g. natural development areas, total reserves, areas with special regulations) within and areas according to § 22 (1) sentence 2 BNatSchG outside protected areas.
Please note that not all zonings have yet been included in the stock. This applies in particular to landscape conservation areas and biosphere reserves.
