This dataset reports conductivity, temperature, and depth data from 25 sites collected during R/V Bellows cruise BE-1301 of the offshore shelf of the Florida Panhandle Bight at the head of DeSoto Canyon from July 8th to 10th, 2012. Water samples collected in the field were analyzed in the Wetlands Research Laboratory at the University of West Florida for nutrient concentrations. Quantitative nanoplankton census data taken via scanning electron microscopy to determine after-the-fact, the effects of the Macondo Oil Spill on these skeletal (coccolith)-bearing phytoplankton is reported here.

本数据集收录了2012年7月8日至10日,在德索托峡谷(DeSoto Canyon)入口处的佛罗里达潘汉德湾近海陆架开展的R/V贝尔洛斯号(R/V Bellows)BE-1301航次中,25个采样站点获取的电导率(conductivity)、温度(temperature)与深度(depth)实测数据。野外采集的水样均送至西佛罗里达大学湿地研究实验室(Wetlands Research Laboratory, University of West Florida)进行营养盐浓度分析。本数据集同时收录了通过扫描电子显微镜(scanning electron microscopy)获取的定量微型浮游生物计数数据,以此回溯评估马孔多原油泄漏(Macondo Oil Spill)事件对这类具颗石(coccolith)骨骼的浮游植物造成的后续影响。
