Viewing Platform – Second Bay, Coolum

The proposed project is the provision of a small raised timber viewing platform at 2nd Bay Car Park between point Arkwright and Point Perry on the Sunshine Coast. The area is an opportunity to view the migration of humpback whale during the winter season. The platform will be durable, of hardwood timber with stainless steel fittings. Finished floor height will be determined to ensure a clear view through and over the existing vegetation, but expected to be approximately 800-1200mm off ground level. Floor will be in the order of 9m2 to 16 m2. Interpretation on migratory whales and local fauna of interest will be provided in partnership with the local coast care group.

本拟建项目为阳光海岸（Sunshine Coast）阿克兰角（Point Arkwright）与佩里角（Point Perry）之间的第二湾停车场（2nd Bay Car Park）增设一座小型高架木质观景平台。该区域是冬季观赏座头鲸（humpback whale）洄游的优质点位。该平台将采用耐用硬木（hardwood timber）打造，并配备不锈钢（stainless steel）配件。平台完工后的地面高度将以透过并越过现有植被获得清晰视野为标准进行设定，预计距地面高度约800至1200毫米。平台建筑面积约为9至16平方米。本项目将与当地海岸护养团体（coast care group）合作，提供座头鲸洄游及本地特色野生动物的科普解说服务。
