Bemisia tabaci, a global invader: A 49-year bibliometric analysis

A literature search was conducted on the Web of Science database was conducted to identify all relevant articles from 1971 to 2020 on Bemisia tabaci. The search string yielded 4819 articles, of which all were eligible for quantitative analysis. The annual growth rate was -1.28%, and the majority of the papers were written by authors based in the USA, followed by China. Among the top 20 journals, the top three were entomology journals, namely the Journal of Economic Entomology, Pest Management Science, and Environmental Entomology. The author who wrote the most articles was Lui SS with 125 articles (24.19 fractionalized articles), whereas the most citated author was Brown JK with 646 citations (24.8462 total citations per year). Based on the results, continued collaboration among different countries at varying economic developmental stages is encouraged in order to better understand how to stem the tide of invasive species and their associated impacts
本研究基于Web of Science数据库开展文献检索,筛选出1971年至2020年间所有与烟粉虱(Bemisia tabaci)相关的研究论文。本次检索共获取4819篇相关文献,全部符合定量分析的纳入标准。该领域相关文献的年增长率为-1.28%,其中发文量最高的作者所属国家为美国,其次为中国。在前20名刊载该领域研究的核心期刊中,排名前三的均为昆虫学专业期刊,依次为《Journal of Economic Entomology》《Pest Management Science》与《Environmental Entomology》。发文量最高的作者为Lui SS,累计发表125篇论文,其加权分篇贡献为24.19;而总被引频次最高的作者为Brown JK,总被引次数达646次,年均被引24.8462次。基于上述研究结果,本研究倡议不同经济发展水平的国家开展持续合作,以更深入地理解如何遏制入侵物种的扩散态势并减轻其关联生态影响。
