资源简介:
Escherichia coli O157:H7 is one of the major foodborne pathogens in the United States. Previous studies demonstrated that cattle can be a reservoir of E. coli O157:H7 cells. The E. coli O157:H7 strain C1-067 was isolated from finishing cattle in a commercial feedlot. The strain C1-067 was characterized by a multiplex PCR assay to detect the following genes, rfbE (encoding O157 antigen) fliCh7 (encoding H7 antigen), eae (encoding intimin), stx1 (encoding Shiga toxin 1) and stx2 (encoding Shiga toxin 2). The PCR results confirmed that the C1-067 strain carried all these five genes. Whole genome sequencing was performed by Pacbio Sequel. Raw reads were then de novo assembled into 12 contigs using Canu (version 1.6). This project was funded by National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
